United States of Europe: Is it a Dream? #2 of Three Talks by Massimo Scialla

CO.AS.IT., in partnership with Swinburne University of Technology, invites you to THREE TALKS WITH MASSIMO SCIALLA. UNITED STATES OF EUROPE: IS IT A DREAM? Europe is under pressure to protect its unity for several reasons: the impact of Brexit, the migration crisis, increasing Russian assertiveness, instability in the Middle East and Mediterranean area. On top of all that, there are signs of a possible radical change of policy on Europe and NATO by President Trump’s Administration, while in the background we have the emergence of disruptive populist and euro-sceptic forces. Dr Massimo Scialla (1946) holds a degree in Economics and Commerce from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. Between 1971 and 2005 Dr Scialla worked at the Banca di Roma (the second largest Italian bank), where he held important responsibilities especially in the international sector. Most recently, Dr Scialla was Chief Manager in charge of International Banks Relations (Correspondent Banking), International Credits, International Network, International Business Development between Italian and International Companies and Responsible for the Bank’s projects finalized to opening 12 branches in Europe, Asia and Africa. In Toronto (Candada), Dr Scialla was Founding Member of the Canadian Foreign Bankers Association and Member of the Board of Directors of the Italo-Canadian Chamber of Commerce. In Sydney, Dr Scialla was Founding Member of the Australian Foreign Bankers Association; Member of the Board of Directors and Vice Chairman of the Italo-Australian Chamber of Commerce and Treasurer of Dante Alighieri Society of New South Wales – Sydney. Dr Scialla was also Member of the Board of Directors of the Italian-Arab Chamber of Commerce – Rome.
