“Let your language skills shine in our inaugural student-run multilingual speech contest!” a representative from USYD’s School of Languages and Cultures said.

Applications to participate are now open to all current USYD students.

Students will have the chance to demonstrate their linguistic prowess through a category and language of choice, including Arabic, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin and Spanish.

Categories are Beginners (<1 year of full-time language study), Open (more than 1 year of full-time language study) and Native, with theme choices of My Daily Life, My Ex“change”, Power of Language, Current Affairs or Your Own Topic (subject to approval).

Winners of the Foreign Languages Speech Contest will receive a certificate and book vouchers.

Volunteer positions as ushers, timekeepers and in general operations are also available.

Volunteers can help run the event smoothly while meeting like-minded people and spreading the passion for languages and cultures.
